Nasolabial folds are usually a cheek problem
The lines running from nose to mouth are the single most common thing people ask us to fill, and filling them directly is often the wrong move.
The fold is usually where the problem shows, not where it starts. As midface volume drops, the cheek descends and the tissue gathers above the smile line. Injecting the crease itself can flatten it while leaving the face heavier around the mouth, which is the look people mean when they say filler looks obvious.
Supporting the cheek first often softens the fold without touching it. Restylane Lyft or Contour placed higher restores the structure the fold is a symptom of. Where the crease is genuinely etched we then use Defyne directly, because it is firm enough to hold against constant mouth movement.
One to two syringes covers most people. We would rather do one and reassess in two weeks than fill both areas on a first visit.
Under-eye filler, and when we say no
The tear trough is the area we decline most often, and it is worth explaining why rather than simply offering it.

Under-eye skin is thin and unforgiving. Too much product, or product placed too superficially, reads as puffiness or takes on a bluish cast. It is reversible with Hylenex, but the better outcome is not needing to reverse it.

Reversible either way for the hyaluronic acid products, since Hylenex dissolves them. Sculptra is not reversible, which is exactly why it is a slower and more conservative build.

What bothers you, in your words, looking in a mirror. Most people arrive naming a product they saw online and leave having chosen a different one, because the area decides the filler rather than the brand.
An honest read on how many syringes
Including when the answer is one, and when it is none. Filler cannot fix skin laxity, and if that is what you are seeing we will point you at skin tightening rather than sell a syringe that will not help.
A written quote before anything is opened
By product and by syringe, totaled. No product is drawn up until you have seen the number and agreed to it.
Treatment, usually the same visit
Numbing first, then injection. Most appointments run 30 to 45 minutes including the consultation. You leave with aftercare and a direct number to call.

The two weeks after, and how filler settles
The first 48 hours
Swelling peaks at about day two, and lips swell more than anywhere else, often dramatically. Sleep propped up, ice gently, skip alcohol and heavy exercise. This is the window in which people panic about a result that is not finished.
Days three to seven
Swelling subsides and bruising, if any, surfaces and fades. Small lumps are common and usually settle on their own; gentle massage only if we have shown you where.
Two weeks is the real result
Filler integrates with your tissue and softens over this period. Judging it at day three is the single most common reason people ask to dissolve something that would have looked right by day fourteen.
The review
Come back at two weeks if you want anything adjusted. Adding a small amount then is straightforward; it is the visit where a good result becomes the right one.
Book at least two weeks before any event. Not the week of, and not the day before, bruising is unpredictable and no amount of care makes it reliably avoidable.
Who this is for, and who it is not
Filler restores volume and shapes structure. It suits thinning lips, flattened cheeks, a softening jawline, nasolabial folds, and genuine under-eye hollowing.
Who it is not for
If the concern is crepey texture, sun damage or loose skin, filler is the wrong tool and will not deliver what you are picturing. Those respond to skin tightening or resurfacing. If the concern is movement lines across the forehead or around the eyes, that is a neurotoxin question.
We also decline where expectations do not match what filler can do, most often under the eye, and most often when the real cause is pigment rather than volume. That is a clinical judgment and it is not negotiable.

Every hyaluronic acid product on this page is available at hundreds of clinics. What is not interchangeable is the judgment about how much, where, and when to stop, and the fact that the same person assesses and treats you each time, so a result is built across visits rather than restarted by whoever is free.

Filler is the treatment we decline most often, and it is worth knowing the three usual reasons before you book. The first is the wrong target: a fold that is really a flattened cheek, or under-eye darkness that is pigment rather than hollowing. Filling those makes the face heavier without making it look better.
The second is timing, an event next week, when swelling and bruising are genuinely unpredictable. The third is accumulation. Faces that have been filled repeatedly over years can reach a point where more product makes them look fuller rather than fresher, and the honest recommendation is to stop, let it metabolize, and reassess. Saying that costs us a sale and it is the reason patients come back.

Answers before you book
How much does a syringe of filler cost?
Restylane is quoted per syringe and Sculptra per vial. Most first-time lip treatments use one syringe; cheeks and nasolabial folds more often take two. You are quoted the total before anything is drawn up, and the consultation is free.
What is the best filler for nasolabial folds?
The folds running from nose to mouth are usually a volume problem higher up rather than a line problem where you see them, so the better answer is often cheek support rather than filling the fold itself. Where the fold is filled directly we use a firmer gel such as Restylane Defyne, which holds structure against the movement of the mouth. One to two syringes is typical.
Can filler fix under-eye hollows?
Sometimes, and this is the area where we decline most often. Under-eye skin is thin and unforgiving, and filler placed there can look puffy or take on a bluish cast if it is too superficial or too much. Where the hollow is genuine volume loss it responds well. Where the darkness is pigment or shadow from a cheek that has flattened, filling the trough will not fix it and we will say so.
Do you carry Juvederm?
Not in stock at the moment. We can order Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus if you specifically want it, so ask at your consultation and we will arrange it for your appointment. Our stocked range is Restylane, which covers the same areas, plus Sculptra for collagen stimulation.
How many syringes will I need?
Lips usually one. Cheeks, nasolabial folds or jawline commonly two or more, because those areas restore volume rather than shape a small structure. We would rather stage treatment across visits than overfill in one, and we will say when one syringe is the right place to stop.
How long do fillers last?
Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane generally last six to eighteen months depending on the product and area, lips metabolize faster than cheeks because they move more. Sculptra is different: results build over two to three months and can last around two years, because it is your own collagen rather than the product.
What if I do not like the result?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible. Hylenex dissolves them in a short separate appointment. This is a real advantage over permanent fillers and it is worth knowing before you start rather than after.
Is there downtime?
Swelling and some bruising for a few days, more in lips than elsewhere. Most people return to work the same day. If you have an event, book at least two weeks before it rather than the week of.

Lindsay Short, NP-BC, a board-certified nurse practitioner, performs every treatment personally. Injectables here are not delegated to unlicensed staff, and you see the same injector at each visit.
