Both providers bring a medically grounded approach to weight management and aesthetic care.

What the Clinic Treats

The clinic focuses on two main areas: medical weight loss and medical aesthetics. Within those areas, services are tailored to each patient’s health history, goals, and candidacy. Common reasons patients come to OC Weight Loss & Med Spa include:

  • Supervised weight loss programs, including GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy (semaglutide, tirzepatide) and appetite-suppressant medications
  • Body contouring and non-surgical fat reduction
  • Skin rejuvenation, including neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport) and dermal fillers
  • Laser and energy-based skin treatments
  • Medical-grade skincare and maintenance programs

Candidacy for any treatment is determined during a consultation. The provider reviews your medical history, current medications, and health goals before recommending a plan.

A Physician-Supervised Approach to Weight Loss

Medical weight loss at this clinic is not a one-size-fits-all program. The intake process begins with a review of your health history and metabolic profile. From there, the provider builds a plan that may include prescription medication, nutritional guidance, and scheduled follow-ups to track progress and adjust as needed.

GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide work by slowing gastric emptying and reducing appetite signals. In clinical trials, patients using these medications alongside lifestyle changes lost significantly more weight than those using lifestyle changes alone. Results vary based on adherence, starting weight, and individual metabolic response. The provider will explain what is realistic for your situation at the consultation.

Safety, Side Effects, and Who Should Not Use These Treatments

All treatments offered at the clinic carry risks that should be understood before starting. Below is a general overview. Your provider will cover specifics during your consultation.

GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide): Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, and decreased appetite, especially during dose escalation. These medications carry an FDA boxed warning regarding thyroid C-cell tumors observed in animal studies; they are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. They are not approved for use during pregnancy. Pancreatitis has been reported rarely. Dose escalation is done gradually to reduce side effects.

Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport): Temporary bruising, swelling, and mild discomfort at the injection site are common. Ptosis (drooping of an eyelid or brow) is rare and typically resolves as the product metabolizes. Results last approximately three to four months on average.

Dermal fillers: Risks include bruising, swelling, asymmetry, and — rarely — vascular occlusion, a serious complication that requires prompt treatment. Filler should only be administered by a qualified, trained injector who has access to hyaluronidase for emergency reversal. Your provider will discuss your anatomy and risk profile before any injection.

Laser and energy-based treatments: Side effects depend on the device and skin type and may include redness, swelling, and temporary changes in pigmentation. Patients with darker skin tones face a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation with certain devices. Proper skin-type assessment before treatment is essential.

Candidacy for all treatments is determined at consultation by the medical provider. This page is for general information only and does not constitute medical advice.
